Broadway Market to Hackney Wick 2 Hours

This route is very popular as it takes you from one of what is now one of London’s trendiest districts to another. Home to some of the best eateries in London, great pubs such as The Pub on the Park www.pubonthepark.com at London Fields and with Broadway Market in full swing on a Saturday www.broadwaymarket.co.uk you’ll find the best street food in London as well as shops and stalls selling fantastic produce, arts & crafts, stylish accessories and über cool clothes.

From the Broadway Market boarding point we cruise the Regent’s Canal towards Victoria Park. You will notice the original, now preserved, gas holders on the right and many warehouses and lofts en route towards Vicky Park as it’s know to the locals. With it’s many historic monuments it’s the oldest public park in Britain and one of London’s finest.

We turn into the Hertford Union Canal continuing alongside Vicky Park passing our favourite garden centre, Growing Concerns, until we reach the junction with the Lee Navigation. We can see the Olympic Park ahead as we turn towards Hackney Wick. Here we find the world famous canalside salmon smokery R Forman& Son www.formans.co.uk and restaurant.

Another great canalside venue is The White Building, a centre for art, technology and sustainability, www.thewhitebuilding.org.uk Here you will also find Crate Brewery & Pizza (Definitely the BEST pizzas outside Italy!) and a little farther along, the Counter Café www.counterproductive.co.uk – in our opinion the best café in London – their bacon & avocado sarnies are heavenly & Eggs Benedict is sublime!

Just opposite you’ll find The Copperbox Building and Olympic Park, with a range of year round events and activities. www.queenelizabetholympicpark.co.uk
